Winter: The perfect season to try out a new haircut!
It’s the time of year to bundle up and get out there. With all of the holiday parties, cold weather, and fun activities that take place during this season it can be easy to forget about your hair. This winter is a great opportunity for you to try something new with your hair so we put together a list of four trending haircuts just in time for the holidays. Whether you’re looking for an edgy look or something more classic these cuts will have you feeling chic from morning until night.
Our Inspiration
Modern Diana
Inspired by the new Spencer trailer, our master stylist, Giulia Maldonado says she has been giving her clients a modern take on Princess Diana’s iconic cut. It is such a powerful look,” Giulia tells us in regards to this, “Fresh short haircut that exudes confidence while also showcasing one’s style with short layers mixed with a modern twist for a classic look.
Voluminous Curls
For those who have been looking to spice up their look, curly hair is the way forward. Curls come in many different lengths and textures, Giulia believes “Curly hair can look professional and polished.” Cutting curly hair is really about creating shape. Deciding on a flattering look is a combination of the perfect haircut and products. Keeping curly hair hydrated and healthy is a must for beautiful voluminous curls.
French Bob
The French bob is an amazing, stylish cut that looks great on all hair textures. “A French bob is typically shorter than the chin-length bob that we’ve seen popping up recently,” says Kelsi Johnson, our newest stylist, “It’s usually paired with a short bang, making it a very chic look for the season.” Ask for one of these at your next appointment so you can be trendy in winter too.
Invisible Layers
“The most modern variation of layering is a slight angle around your face, usually starting at the chin and working its way down to give that perfectly tousled look without sacrificing length,” says Kristy Schanel-Wallace. If you’ve ever looked at any women’s long full-hair in envy because it has all of the movement and texture without looking too short after applying some interior layers–it’s thanks for these cleverly hidden layers. The trick here is keeping them long so weight doesn’t show through but seamless enough not interfere with getting our desired outcome (volume). To subtly frame the face, you can shorten one of the pieces and have it hit right on top or off-center at cheekbone level.
As winter approaches, it’s time to start thinking about what haircut you’re going to rock this season. With a variety of styles on the rise from voluminous curls and invisible layers to modern Diana cuts, there is something for everyone. If you need some help deciding which style will suit your face shape or personality best, don’t worry – we’ve got a stylist ready and waiting at Sunday Salon for an appointment. To make things even easier, our team has put together inspiration for trending haircuts that are perfect for winter below. Book now before our stylists book out.
